A garden wall installation at a Mission style private residence in San Diego, CA. Taking cues from the Talavera tile patterns peppered throughout the space, I pulled elements from different patterns and had pieces CNC cut from 1/4” aluminum plate. The pieces were then painted using high gloss automotive finishes. The pieces were installed in layers, creating a three-dimensional wall relief that serves as a dramatic backdrop for the entrance courtyard of this home. The planter beds in front of this wall installation were planted with specimen cactus and cycad, and creme rock finishes it all off.
