Triad Xylophone

I was commissioned to create a bench seating environment for Boochcraft, a maker of hard kombucha, to be used for their 3 year anniversary part and subsequent events and activations. Their goal was to create a place for people to come together to sit and drink kombucha. I thought that we could also add in a participatory musical component so that it was not only a place to sit, but also an environment to connect with other people musically. Using their two-dimensional logo, I built a three dimensional set of curvilinear benches to scale match their logo, with custom upholstered seating pads, and three individual xylophones as the musical centerpiece of the whole installation. The installation was made up of 12 modular units that could be bolted together, and then unbolted and stacked for transporting and storing.
